However, when Josh Holloway forgot his lines during an audition and then kicked his chair and swore loudly in frustration, the writers liked the side of Sawyer’s character and decided to write Sawyer more as a darker southern drifter.

Sun is married and shares the last name “Kwon,” which becomes a major plot point in the final season. However, when Koreans get married, the wife never takes her husband’s last name. In fact, in Korea, it’s not even allowed to marry someone with the same last name, except in rare cases.

The strange opening credits were written by J.J. Abrams on his laptop in black and white as a tribute to The Twilight Zone. LOST transcended the writing of television drama and embodied the theory of the subject when it arrived on the scene in 2004.

Seriously. The stories of Jack, Kate, Saywer, Hugo, Locke, Sayid, and yes, even Benjamin Linus were crafted in a way that few have done before. My then-16-year-old son said it was the best-written series of its time, and today, at 30 and a writer himself, he still holds to that belief: all other series are in LOST’s shadow.
